Responsibilities

  • Ensure the assigned project is completed within budgeted cost and meets or exceeds the profit margin by :
    • building up cost plan for Director's approval;
    • deploying resources according to the agreed budget;
    • identifying areas/items for possible savings;
    • monitoring on critical issues and implementing effective remedial actions; 
    • monitoring closely workdone/variation for prompt submission payment claims.
  • Ensure the assigned project is completed on time by :
    • preparing master programme/progress schedule for Director's approval;
    • organizing building activities according to it;
    • monitoring project progress;
    • proposing and implementing remedial actions.
  • Ensure the assigned project is completed at the specified quality standard by :
    • organizing the procurement of materials and monitoring workmanship according to contract requirements;
    • monitoring process control, equipment calibration, inspection and testing, record of quality problems and devising and implementing remedial actions for discrepancies.
    • implementing and monitoring quality related systems & procedures.
  • Ensure a safe working environment by enforcing safety disciplines according to the government regulations and company guidelines on site safety.
  • Ensure the effective deployment and development of human resources in the assigned project by proper selection, placement, training and development of the team members.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationship with clients, consultants, subcontractors and other professionals as well as government departments and utilities companies to ensure smooth running of the project and enhance company reputation.
  • Assist in obtaining new jobs for the company by participating actively in the tendering stage.
  • Ensure all assigned responsibilities relating to quality are carried out in accordance with the Company quality procedures.
  • Perform any other ad hoc duties as assigned by the management of Build King Group.

Requirements

  • Degree Holder in Civil /Structural Engineering / Construction Management / Building Studies / Building Services, or Equivalent.
  • Possession of professional membership in Building / Civil / Structural Engineering / Construction Management.
  • At least 15 years’ practical experience in managing full operation of various kind of building construction projects, with proven experience in construction or project management with relevant exposure in large-scale building projects in the private/public sector.
  • Strong leadership, problem solving and decision making skill.
  • Excellent project management and communication skill.
  • Good command in both English and Chinese (including Mandarin).
  • Candidate with less experience may be considered for Assistant Contracts Manager or other position within the organization.
